SL Metropolitan is an Australian company, that markets Ceylon tea, from Bogawantalawa plantations. This is known as the Golden Valley of Tea in Sri Lanka and is indeed world famous for its quality produce.

In the past tea shippers and Blenders ,purchased teas from different plantations ,to maintain prices at profitable levels and obtain their required volumes .This resulted in the customer never having the opportunity to savour real quality teas. The concept of Bogawanthalawa Plantations was to change this pattern and give the customer the opportunity of tasting tea direct from its own gardens, ensuring ,that the tea is produced and packed in the shortest possible period ,in order to achieve a high level of freshness and uniformity in quality.

In order to complete the production and value addition chain, the company has its own packing facility equipped with the most modern machinery. As per the world food products requirement the packing plant is certified for quality with certification for H.A.C.C.P, ISO9000.2001 and B.R.C.I.S.O.22000.2005,
And is also in the process of obtaining the HALAL and KOSHER certification.
