Micro Industries Development Assistance and Services (MIDAS) , former USAID project (1982-1993) , is a business development service organisation in the private sector. It was set up in 1982 with the objective of supporting the development of micro, small and medium enterprises with a view to generating employment opportunities on self-sustainable basis. Over the period, it has gained unique professional competence in effective delivery of both technical and financial assistance to diverse and wide ranging target groups.
MIDAS renders financial and technical assistance to micro, small and medium enterprises (both existing and potential) . Midas also offers training, information and consulting services to national and multinational companies, government organizations, NGOs, donor agencies and individuals in various areas relating to technology, management, production, marketing, finance, export development, etc.
Since its inception in 1982, MIDAS has been directly involved in producing quality outputs in the field of market study and research, socio-economic study, techno-economic feasibility study, implementation of development projects, action research, entrepreneurship and management development training, sub-sectoral study and other consultancy. In the field of enterprise and entrepreneurship development MIDAS is the pioneer in providing investment counseling, consultancy and training. With a pool of experienced inhouse as well as rostered resource persons and modern physical facilities, MIDAS is fully capable of carrying out the consultancy work as can be comprehended from its previous track record.
