Since ten years we are one of the biggest buyers of fish on Toronto market and very soon on the Canadian market. Our fish business relies on access to reliable supplies into the future.
Our impact:
Most of the fish we sell comes from pacific species: Alaskan Pollock, Ocean perch, yellow croaker, king fish, mackerel. These are sold as frozen products, such as fish fingers and coated or uncoated fillets under our brands.
We source most of our fish from Canada. We also source fresh and frozen fish from West Africa, octopus, blue fin tuna and sardines from Tunisia,
Commercial fishing companies catch, process and freeze fish on the high seas or in factories on land, delivering it to buyers, such as ourselves, mainly in frozen blocks, or individually packing. We control the process and package the fish while it is still frozen. This maintains freshness and taste. Some premium products are also prepared from individually frozen fillets.
We buy fish from suppliers, with whom we have long-term relationships, contracting to take agreed quantities over a set period. To secure our fish supplies in the long term, we need to work closely with them to bring about change in the management of fish stocks and fisheries practices.
Through our fish sustainability initiative we are committed to source all our fish from sustainable fisheries. Now we can provide you smoked fish and seafood, also marinated dried and more.
Since two years, we started to include olive oil, sun dried tomatoes, canned vegetables (roasted red pepper. artichokes, mushrooms, peeled tomatoes, concentrated) and finally Mediterranean frozen vegetables.
