Yunnan Machinery Imp. & Exp. Corporation was set up in December 1981 as a branch of China National Machinery Imp. & Exp. Corporation. It was approximately in late 1987 that YMC separated from the Group and began its independent management. To win the tug-of-war in the international market, YMC always maintain the guiding ideology of export as base, economic benefit as focus, management as keystone and reform as impetus. Its business has expended to more than 20 countries and regions since 1987. Overseas companies have been distributed in Myanmar, Hong Kong, Malaysia, U.S.A., Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. At home, YMC has established and maintained good and firm co-operative relationship with hundreds of domestic researchers, developers, manufacturers and bankers to form an effective network of design, sales and services.Through years' persisting efforts, YMC has achieved great progress in foreign trade. For 13 years since 1987, the import and export volumes added up to 713 million us dollars, among which, the export was 566 million US Dollars and the import 147 million US Dollars; the profit payments and tax turnover added up to 40.6 million RMB Yuan, among which, income tax was 10.04 million RMB Yuan. The total import and export volumes surmounted 100 million US Dollars successively in 1995 and 1996.
