Our soaps are created using the cold process of soap-making , based solely on the ultra premium quality Laconian and Messinian olive oil. Ultra premium olive oil has the lowest acidity values and normally is valued a lot more than regular olive oil. E.g. "Lambda" Olive Oil. www.speironcompany.com
We produce soap without boiling oil or adding salt. During the "cold" method and due to the fact that this method does not use heat, the glycerin produced during saponification, remains inside the soap. The saponification is not achieved rapidly with the help of temperature but continued for several hours into the mold. It's a "slow" method that requires much more time than warm, so it is not used by the industry where large production is required.
The cold method is applied to handmade soaps and requires care.
Our soap is so rich in glycerin, have all the physical properties of pure crude oil and are ecological and biodegradable.
After the saponification, they are cut, sealed and wrapped by hand, and then they remain in a special area with natural ventilation, for 8 weeks for curing and drying.
We are one of the few producers who do not use any extras at all and no pigment in our natural soaps. In fact we do not use anything else other than virgin olive oil and distilled water (in our Pure- Unscented Baby Soap line). The minimum rate of olive oil used at our unscented soaps is between 100% and 95% , while the aromatic, moisturizing, luxurius, velvety soaps contain up to 65% of Ultra Premium Olive Oil as they become enriched with a variety of precious oils and moisturising ingredients such as aloe, shea butter, lanolin, almond oil, essential oils, 22Karat Gold leaves or dust and natural unprocessed silk fibers, zeolith, and active charcoal (in our detoxifying products).
