This is "KOFTGARI ART" Koftagiri is a form of damascening or inlaying a light metal on a dark one, silver or gold wire ornaments a metal like iron or steel. The base metal is heated and hammered to flatten it a bit. It is then grooved to accommodate the design which will be fixed on it. Articles like Shields, Swords, Daggers and various other metal articles are also decorated by this technique.
