Kondai Lip is a backwater heritage hideaway with 7 Kerala style cottages. These ancient houses are built strictly to the principles of Vasthu Sastra of the olden days but with modern amenities such as air conditioning. One cottage is separate with the reamining six semi-detached. They are simple but comfortable.
This naturally designed island resort with its neat corridors of coconut palms is spread over ten acres. It is partially surrounded by shallow water, safe and suitable for rowing traditional canoes called Kothumbu Vallam.
The resort has a small speedboat with a 10HP motor. At sunset we will take you down river towards the coast where you can see the famous Chinese Nets used for fishing by the locals. On the way you can see locals at work coconut plucking and dehusking, weaving coir mats. Alternatively enjoy a trip to the nearby bird sanctuary or hop in a pedalo.
