Suraj foundry established in 1974 is manufacturing about 100 tons per month, mainly export-oriented engineering & ornamental items in cast iron, aluminium & brass. We have been making cast-components even for defence, railways & government- undertakings.
Heat resistant sureyaa c. I. Crucibles are also being manufactured for melting/holding aluminium & zinc alloys.
Modern foundry techniques were introduced in 1990 by dennis e. Houghtan, a leading foundry expert; chosen & deputed by ceso, Canada.
The foundry has the unique distinction of being recongnised by the Central & state pollution control boards for meeting the acceptable environmental norms.
Our unit was the first of its kind in the world to install & manufacture castings by (coal/pollution-free) eco-friendly natural gas.
Due to its concern for the environment it has been honoured by the visit of ms. Elinor constable, asstt. Secy. Of the international environmental & scientific affairs, USA. Other officers of epa.
Unique honour was bestowed to our CEO by the invitation from the president of the United States of America, w. J. Clinton at an address on us/Indian co-operation on environment & clean technology in march 2000.
The unit is presently in the process of obtaining ISO:14001 & 9002 certification in collaboration with: Usaid/india's clean technology initiative (cti) project through usaid.
