Sesa Industries Ltd. is a subsidiary of Sesa Goa, India's largest producer and exporter of Iron ore in the private sector. Sesa Goa is part of the Vedanta Group, which is one of the largest metals and mining majors globally.
Sesa Industries Limited (SIL) is on course to be the largest secondary pig iron producer in India. SIL is an 88% subsidiary of Sesa Goa Limited and is engaged in the manufacture and sale of pig iron. It produces several grades of pig iron, including basic grade, foundry grade and spheroidal (nodular) grade.
The plant is strategically located at Amona, Goa on the banks of the Mandovi River, with an annual production of over 280,000 tonnes of Pig Iron and 60,000 tonnes of slag which is dried to 2% moisture and sold for use in the cement industry.
Our expansion projects for the additional capacity in pig iron, a non-recovery coke plant, a sinter plant and a power plant is in progress. Post commissioning of the new projects we will be able to produce over 750,000 tonnes of pig iron annually making it the largest producer of pig iron in the secondary sector in India, with almost total backward integration.
