The Heavy duty engineering plastics are essentially solid, infusible materials, constituted of cotton fabric, or paper impregnated with phenolic resin, and subjected to high pressure and controlled temperature.
By varying the type of reinforcement used and the type and proportions of resin, a whole family of grades is produced, with properties tailored to meet specific needs, in accordance with relevant industry/country standards. Combination mechanical and electrical strengths with chemical and weather resistance, to result in a rigid, low weight, economical material, suitable for varied uses.
