S.C. Metaltech S.A. is an authorized dealer of Orange (the leading mobile communications company on the Romanian market).Metaltech was founded in May 1990, with courageous goals for that time: become the main electronics trading company in Europe. Its only activity was electronics commerce. Every year, at least one more company added to the partnership list. Gradually, as the costumer's needs became more and more diverse, the company's resources adapted to these conditions. Thus, more activities were adopted:In August 1995, the company fused with 'Brown Union Romania' (one of the top computer and electronics trading companies) leading to a sales increase of 15% in the following year.-In August 1997, 'Leo Burnett' (the leading advertising company on the market) proclaimed Metaltech as 'the most <visionary> company' (meaning that it's the most viewed company in advertising ads).-In 1998, Metaltech's selling reached $1 million.-In February 1999, Metaltech was proclaimed as 'the most popular company' in the year 1998 (among the other 123 participants) by the National Agency for Future Commerce (NAFC).-In 1999 Metaltech was proclaimed as 'the closest to the costumer company' by the National Costumer Association (NCA); this is due to the costumer department which did a great job in communicating, and solving problems (few as they were).- In 2000 Metaltech's sellings went well over $2.5 million nationally, and $500,000 internationally.- In March 2001, Metaltech signed a 35 year contract (with the possibility of extension) with Sony for the supplying of electronics. By the same year, Metaltech had already signed similar contracts with the following: 3Com, Adaptec, Canon, Compaq, Creative, CTX, Daewoo Electronics, Dell, DFI, Ednet, Epson, Erickson,Fujitsu, Genius, Hansol, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Iomega, Kensington, KTC, Lexmark, LG, Logitech, Maxell, Maxtor, Metrologic, Microsoft, Nexans, Nokia, Optoma, Palm, Panasonic, Pinnacle Systems, PlayStation, PQI, Relisys, Siemens, SMC, Solar, Teac, Tripp- Lite, Trust, U.S. Robotics, Vivanco, Waitec, Yamaha Electronics. And the list goes on.- Currently, the sellings go slightly over $5 million (out if which, over $1.7 million are international sales.)- In 2002 Metaltech inaugurated it's 35th national filial (also by that time, there were 3 Eastern Europe countries that Metaltech had penetrated; and since then it has been pervading all over Europe, Africa, and Asia.
