Foreword:
Our company is a manufacturer of sweets and snack foods, particularly focusing on fried goods. We were founded in 1983, at which time we started producing "imo-kanrito" (candied strip-cut hard chips) made of sweet potato.
About Our Products:
1) Our sweet potato imo-kanrito has a domestic market share of approximately 2%.
We are the only company producing imo-kanrito with ingredients exclusively made in Japan, so we have 100% of that market share.
We are also the industry leader in terms of variety of types and shapes of sweet potato.
2) After our success with sweet potatoes, we began developing products made from potatoes, lotus root, pumpkin and other vegetables, offering a range of vegetable chips.
Our current domestic share of the vegetable chip market is 5%, and we are the only company producing vegetable chips whose ingredients are all exclusively made in Japan.
3) Our other products include pasta snacks and macaroni snacks. Although these products were born from the simple idea of frying up regular household pasta, they are surprisingly unique and an original flavor experience. Because this product type requires great care in terms of quality and safety, only two firms nationwide manufacture fried pasta products, and we are one of them. Our share of the market is 40%.
Japanese Vegetables was written up in the October 2006 Nikkei Marketing Journal as a new, Japan-original product. This product and its gift version are sold by various Japanese co-ops, such as the major co-op Co-op Kobe.
