The company was founded in order to perform applied research and development. Ona major objective was also to design process equipment for the mining, metallurgical, chemical and water treatment industrial sectors. Two initial developments were a deep bed sand filtrt and a cone settler (the SEDCO).Later, after constructing a several cone setttlers and performing pilot plant testing for water treatment and slurry thickening, several complete systems were developed for application to mineral concentration plants (paste thickening), water clarification (for mine water effluents) and for wastewater treatment plants. These systems have been equipped with instruments and controllers for automatic process control.
