BioVite Ltd was established in 2002 with a view to ending the problems with weight loss which many people suffer from. It specifically looks at a condition called Syndrome X which 1 in 5 of us suffer from although we normally don't know it. Syndrome X was not well known before BioVite published it and it's solution - the X-Vite Diet Plan.

In essence Syndrome X is one step before type 2 diabetes. A sufferer who consumes white (simple) carbohydrates or sugar can expect their blood sugar levels to spike and then drop very quickly. The drop is due to too much insulin (the fat storing hormone) which converts all of the sugar into fat. This leaves the person feeling very sluggish and ultimately hungrey before they should be. As a lot of diets revolve around low-fat foods which normally have a lot of sugar in to maintain a nice taste. The problem is that the dieter thinks that they are eating the right food eg. Jacket Potatoes, Pasta, Low-Fat alternatives and no-fat meal replacements shakes. In fact the dieter is just adding to their problems.

BioVite is also responsible for DermaVite which is an anti-ageing supplement. DermaVite contains all the right anti-oxidants neccasary to reverse the signs of ageing and give the skin more elasticity and lift. As it is a supplement not a cream DermaVite helps the skin all over the body as opposed to just the face and hands.

Lastly BioVite has brought out the first 2 products in the SlimaVite range. SlimaVite Reducers conatin Hoodia Gordonii from South Africa. The Hoodia extract works as a natural appetite suppresant. By taking the Reducers dieters feel less hungrey naturally which makes the decision not to eat at inapproprite times much easier. Hoodia has been used for hundreds of years by the indigenous people in South Africa who used it to go on long hunting trips without needing food. Only recently has this extract been used as a slimming aid but it is proveing to be very effective already.
Also in the SlimaVite range is SlimaVite Carb Control. The active ingredient is phase 2 phaseolamin (white kidney bean extract) which helps to inhibit the production of amylase. Amylase is the main enzyme used to break down starch in the body and so by inhibiting it's release the body can not extract all of the sugars from the food. This product enables dieters to have the odd "bad" meal when it can not be avoided and it will not undo all their good dieting.
