Select Soil's parent company Kaolin Mushroom Farms has been a leader in the mushroom producing industry for more than 40 years. Kaolin Mushroom Farms produces millions of tons of partially composted material every year as a growing medium for their mushroom crops. Select Soils takes "spent mushroom soil" and completes the process of making spent mushroom compost by carefully monitoring, aerating, turning and eventually drying the soil to produce a rich growing medium for nurseries, landscapers and home owners, as well as farmers. Fortunately, much of the cost of producing such high quality soil is incorporated in the cost of producing mushrooms; otherwise, this product would be extremely expensive for the average compost consumer to purchase. Select Soils passes the value on to it's customers by being able to offer this finished product at approximately the same price as a premium soil, but in much more reasonable quantities which produce remarkable results.
