Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems was founded in 1985 by Rich Hood, working out of a bedroom transformed into a day-time office in Centreville, Maryland. He and his wife, his first office manager and bookkeeper, soon outgrew their modest surroundings and moved the business to Easton in 1988
