Luminous Power technologies(LPT) is an ISO 9001 :2000 certified Indian Company with exports spread to over 36 countries, delivering superior consistent quality products, conforming to IEC 62040 and 60950 specifications.
Though, LPT offers a large basket of product mix to its customers to pick & chose from, yet company core competence area in terms of product category is listed below:

We have 11 manufacturing facilities in India, and in China with current group sale of USD 225 million (INR 1000 Crore) in 2010 -2011. We are market leaders in India, having over 28000 retail partners, with elaborate service centers to feed them effectively and efficiently.
Our distinct achievements are elucidated below:
A) February 17th, 2004: Technical Collaboration with a USD 700 million Eagle-Picher Incorp, US. For lead acid battery.
B) Our Battery R&D team is headed by Ex. CTO of a large multinational Battery Company
C) February 24th, 2006: Strategic Alliance with Hyundai Corporation, South Korea, to establish Hyundai Power Products Limited in India.
D) Winner of Consumer World Award for the last FOUR years in the inverter category in India.(2004,2005,2006,2007)
E) Received 2007 Frost & Sullivan Market Penetration Leadership Award in Asia Pacific for DC-AC Inverters in non-renewable energy markets
JV WITH SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC
A Joint Venture Agreement between Luminous and Schneider Electric (www.schneider-electric.co.in) has recently been signed in which Schneider Electric will hold 74 % equity in Luminous Power Technologies.
Schneider Electric is 20 Euro Billion (126000 Crore) Energy management company with leadership position in multiple markets , including energy and infrastructure , industrial process, building automation, data centers / networks, as well as broad presence in residential applications . Luminous will become a part of the IT business of Schneider Electric which is a global leader in integrated critical power and cooling, providing hardware, software and services for the residential, business network , data center and manufacturing environment .
The combination of Schneider Electric IT Business and Luminous will generate tremendous opportunities for the business to become the leader in India in the Inverter market which is 4500 CRore and growing at about 20 % YOY. Luminous brings an exceptional product portfolio. The renewable and telecom activities of Luminous get a strong impetus from the energy management capabilities of Schneider Electric.
Together we will establish a combined force that will make us become the No 1 brand in Home Electrical segment with enhanced customer credibility and stronger competitive advantage .It would therby help reach our mission 5000 much quicker .
Luminous would continue to work as an independent company and an independent brand as is the case of today with no visible links with Schneider Electric and APC . Mr.Rakesh Malhotra will continue to be the Chairman of the Board of Luminous and provide vision and direction to the JV .He will be an active partner and contributing to the growth of Luminous.
We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Mr.Manish Pant as the Managing Director of Luminous with immediate effect .Mr.Manish joins Luminous with a strong experience of 13 years at Schneider Electric, in managing various joint ventures and business in China , Hong Kong and Thailand .Mr. Manish was most recently the Vice President of Strategy and Alliance at Schneider Electric India .
This JV will bring to you new opportunities for growth with a wider product portfolio in electrical distribution and home electrical .
