CONSTRUCTION
The two largest construction projects were undertaken by my companies. The first between 1971 and 1976 through Zaminos Pakistan (Private) Limited, and the second between 1989 and 1993 through M.E.F.T. Pakistan (Private) Limited.
In 1973 we were the initiators of the famous Integrated Rural Development Programme in association with the Government of Pakistan. We constructed the Shadab Pilot Project (the first Agroville) in Pakistan which was the foundation of the Integrated Rural Development Programme of the Government of Pakistan. We owned the first Agroville in Pakistan set up at a distance of thirteen and a half miles from Lahore. This project received recognition and support worldwide from many international organizations and became a model for further Agrovilles in Pakistan which were replicated throughout our country in large numbers. The idea was to provide the small farmer with inputs and services at his door step. This included fertilizer, pesticides, land leveling facilities, proper use of water resources, banking, education, open air theatre, storage, roads, health clinic, and many other services so that the small farmer could survive. This project was very successful and played a key role in preventing the rural population from drifting to the cities.
AGRICULTURE
We were the first company to introduce the use of Gypsum in Pakistan. Today it is a house hold word and is used extensively in Pakistan for agricultural purposes. In 1971 we were the first company to go into research and development of the mineral deposits of Pakistan on a scientific basis. We introduced Gypsum for the first time in Pakistan to reclaim land affected by salinity.
In 1973 we were the initiators of the famous Integrated Rural Development Programme in association with the Government of Pakistan. MINING
We are the largest Gemstones Mine Owners in Pakistan. We have got reports prepared on our mines by a top Canadian Consultant, British-Swiss Consultants, and the Frontier Works Organization.
DEEP SEA FISHING
We are the pioneers of deep sea fishing in Pakistan and have exported Tuna to Japan and other types of fish like Cuttle Fish, Ribbon Fish, Yellow Croaker, Spotted Croakers, Marlins, Pomfret, and Squid to many other countries. During the fishing season when all ships are functioning there are over 350 people working for us. Our Fishing Agreements are subject to Government approval.
SOLAR ENERGY
We are the leaders of Solar Energy in Pakistan. We are introducing for the first time on a large scale the use of Solar Energy in Pakistan.
The world is going through a severe energy and water crises. The only solution to this is the use of the power of the sun.
