ABANOS Furniture Industries & Decoration LLC formerly operating as ECC Furniture Industries (ECCFI) commenced production in 1975 as an in-house carpentry workshop catering to the requirements of various projects undertaken by our parent organization, Engineering Contracting Company of Dubai (ECC) .
ECCFI expanded in 1978, as a full fledged Carpentry and Joinery Unit meeting the requirement of other clients as well throughout the United Arab Emirates. In 1985 ECCFI decided to function as a separate entity from the parent Company and established an independent management structure to meet the growing market demand for diversified products. We offered architects, designers and building contractors in the region professional services to produce custom-made as well as standard joinery components supported by our manufacturing facilities.
Using skilled personnel and increasing amounts of sophisticated machinery, we began to produce furniture and timber components of exceptionally high quality attracting the attention of various clients throughout the region. Furniture and timber building components from ECC Furniture Industries were spread throughout the Middle East in numerous projects and for varied applications. During 1996 ECC furniture Industries further ventured into the world of interior design with the opening of an interior design office at the Sharjah site and extensive showrooms at AL Qouz, Dubai. In 2002 ECCFI changed its trading name to Abanos Furniture Industries & Decoration LLC. (Abanos being the Arabic word for Ebony) which we feel is more befitting to the Company image of fine craftsmanship
